FridayEuroTech Award

FridayEuroTech Leo Plasman Award

The "FridayEuroTech Leo Plasman Award" is presented to people who mean a lot to FridayEuroTech or have done particularly good work.

This award was named after engineer Leo G. Plasman, the man with the greatest amount of significance for FridayEuroTech. Leo gave life to FridayEuroTech. His enormous range of knowledge and his expertise as well as his personable and respectable manners made him a great inspiration for many people and allowed him to always know how to motivate people.

On Sunday 21st August 2005, our member of the board and engineer Ir. Leo G. Plasman passed away. Leo was Director from 1991 when Friday was founded until the fusion with Euro Tech in 1999. From 1st October 2000 until the day he passed away, Leo was a member of the supervisory board at FridayEuroTech Holding B.V..

In memory of Leo G. Plasman and to honor his contributions to FridayEuroTech, we have dedicated a bronze sculpture to him.  This sculpture was created by the artist Corry Ammerlaan van Niekerk and is entitled "Verbondenheid door de jaren heen" [Solidarity through the years].

The sculpture symbolizes how significant personal contact is throughout the years.

The first sculpture was awarded to Agnes Plasman, Leo's wife.

On 19th November 2005, the award was presented to the departing supervisory board members J. Naborn and J. Willemse in recognition of all the things that they have done for FridayEuroTech.

On 19th June 2007, the award was presented to Mr. and Mrs. Meesters for all of the accomplishments of their son and our colleague Ron Meesters. Ron passed away unexpectedly on 8th June 2006 at the age of 43. He was a Friday-man from the very beginning and has played a very important role in the growth and development of FridayEuroTech up to today. We continue to enjoy his national and international business contacts on a daily basis.

On Friday, 4th January 2008, the prize was awarded to Remco van Krieken, who was born on 10th November 1969. Remco worked for FridayEuroTech for 14 years and played an important role in the development and growth of the scaffolding and insulation areas of business for FridayEuroTech. Remco worked his way up from the very beginning and is now leaving his position as Operations Manager responsible for all product groups in the Netherlands and Belgium.
